
Occupational Therapist
Contract: Work remotely and in-person with communities in the North.
Continuum North is looking for registered occupational therapists (OTs) to join our school-based teams.
Continuum North is located in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, the traditional territory of the Yellowknives Dene and North Slave Métis. Services are provided by our team across the territories on Dene, Inuvialuit, Inuit and Gwich’in lands (in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut).
Continuum North works within a collaborative model including occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, nursing, counselling, physiotherapists, educators, and specialized interventionists (ex. deaf and hard of hearing educator). We serve children, families, schools, communities, and governments.
This is a hybrid travel / virtual position, with travel to northern communities central to the role. Travel from other jurisdictions may be supported depending on location / employment agreement.
Requirements of Position:
Knowledge of Inuit cultures and ways of being (or willing to learn)
Cultural humility/commitment to reconciliation
Trauma informed approach
Innovative, creative and adaptable
Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
Work collaboratively with interprofessional team, schools, communities and families
Commitment to northern travel
Physically carry out the duties of the position. For example, travel on small planes, walking on varied terrain.
Understanding of Inclusive schooling and tiered model of service (i.e., MTSS/RTI)
Qualifications:
Registered as an Occupational Therapist with a provincial college in Canada

Contract
The position is an employee (versus subcontractor) position. Continuum North takes pride in offering competitive compensation. Both direct and indirect (non-billable) time is compensated, including:
