In most cases, this will cover a comprehensive assessment. In some cases, assessments may be more complex and may require additional time and additional fees. This would be discussed with clients ahead of time for prior approval.
Inter-disciplinary Assessments
Our inter-disciplinary team of Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and others as needed, offer assessments through a clinic in Yellowknife a few times a year. Our team also travels to the client’s home community anywhere within the Northwest Territories or Nunavut when funding allows.
Inter-disciplinary assessments are more comprehensive than standard psychoeducational assessments. They can be helpful with integrating information about a variety of needs, such as sensory processing, motor coordination, speech skills, and language abilities.
We have team members across professions who have training in Autism-specific measures, including the ADOS-2 and ADI-R. Our team also participates in regular ongoing training and mentorship regarding Autism assessment. Autism assessments are typically inter-disciplinary based.
Assessments will be tailored for each individual’s needs. We will answer as many questions as the client has in one cohesive assessment.
